Back from 1 week of camping!

**WARNING: May contain lots of pictures! Enjoy!**

Well, we're back from our week of camping (July 23 - July 30)! And it's going to take a few days to catch up on everyone's lives the past week. But I figure I need to get my post started so I can decide what pictures to use. Doing 50 loads of laundry right now, too (not really but it seems like that much). Anyway, we went up in the Uintah's and it was nice to get away for a week. This is our new tent from Cabela's (the evening we got there and after we set it up) ....

Below is another one looking in our tent at our bed... a mattress on top of a cot (quite nice and better than just a mattress on the floor, like we've had before). Our tent was very nice and kept out the rain on the 2 days it did rain a lot. Last year it rained a whole lot and we had to leave a day early because our tent (a cheap one from Target, I think) leaked and made our bed and pillows wet, and a few places on the long dirt road started to wash out.

The morning after we got there, I noticed this ....

After Jeff took the tire off, we noticed this ....

See the screw? Yep, that's what made the tire flat. Jeff put the spare donut tire on and the next day, Jeff's uncle had to go to a nearby town for a part for his vehicle and we had him take our tire to get patched. This is Jeff putting on the donut tire ....

Jeff's brother, Jason, has a jeep that he took a few people off-roading on (not me, though!). Some people will miss that jeep when Jason sells it before he leaves on his mission next year. Here he is with his jeep and 3 cousins (left to right: Maridy, David, and Weston) ....

Here are a few random pictures at the campsite ....

Jeff's mom and Jeff--

Jeff's mom and dad--

Lori and Katie (Jeff's sisters)--

I thought this was a good one of Jeff, his mom, and his sister Katie--

Jeff likes to read when we go camping, so here he is with his book (isn't he cute?)--

Jeff's parents have 3 dogs, too... Maggie, Clover, and Pugsy (Lori's favorite)--

Jeff's dad in the hammock with Pugsy and Maggie--

We couldn't do a whole lot in the afternoon/evening of Saturday and Sunday because it rained. We were blessed that it didn't rain any of the other days (although it rained a little in the middle of the night last night, but not too much). On Monday, Jeff went fishing along the river where we were camping. He sorta lost track counting how many he caught, but he caught about 28 fish. I went with him for the first 7 or so, then got bored and went back to camp. Here are a couple pictures of him and his fish he caught ....

His first fish ....

His tiny fish ....

His weird-looking fish ....

Also, Lori caught a fish (with Maggie eyeballing it) ....

And Katie caught a fish ....

Yesterday, we went to a lake called Moon Lake and Lori rented a kayak and all but me and Jeff's mom went on it (yes, I'm boring!, but I enjoyed watching and taking pictures). Sorry a couple of these may be a little blurry.

Katie and Jeff--

Every year, Jeff's family has a tradition of taking a family picture in front of a tall tree stump ....

Even though I hate the bugs and getting and feeling dirty, I enjoyed the time off work and spending time with Jeff's family.

Video-adding problems, camping, and time off work (finally!)

So I keep trying to add a video from YouTube of a song I like and it plays fine on YouTube, but when I add it to my blog and try to play it, it says, "We're sorry, this video is no longer available." I just think it's weird because it plays fine on YouTube! Anyone have any ideas why it would do that??? So until I can get it to work, you'll have to wait to see the song I really like. Maybe it'll work if I just added the link and you could click on it to see it. But I like having the video on my blog. I'll figure something out when I get back from camping.

Anyway, tomorrow afternoon (hopefully not evening), we're leaving to go camping in the Uintahs with a lot of Jeff's extended family. It'll be fun and I can't wait to catch up on some sleep and take a week off work (a much needed break!!!). I'll hopefully have some pictures I can post when we get back. So have a great week everyone!!! :-)

Memories

I got this off of Jeff's cousin Kristen's blog, which sounds like fun, so leave a comment if you read this! ;-)

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Interesting

I had an interesting thing happen to me yesterday. Jeff and I went to get our birth certificates at the Health Department place in Provo. We both aren't sure where our original ones are right now, and we need them to get passports for our cruise (although Jeff's work might pay for his, which will be nice!, since he might get to travel outside the U.S.). When we were there getting them, one of the workers there noticed where I was born (at the hospital in Provo), my birthday, and the doctor. She said we were 'nursery buddies' because she was born 3 minutes before my birthday and we even had the same doctor! I just thought that was kinda cool and interesting. :-)

Soreness! Oh, and 4th of July!

I've used our treadmill a few times so far. I should use it more often than I have been... and I plan to. The past couple years at my work, they've had what's called the Backstage 100 (like the Wasatch 100). Between the 4th of July and Labor Day, we try to get 100 miles in and get some good prizes and even try to beat our boss. We rack up miles by running/walking, swimming (every mile is 3 miles), biking (every 3 miles is 1 mile), or losing weight (every pound lost is 5 miles). The past couple years they've done this, I've maybe counted about 5 or 10 miles (maybe a little more), haha. But this year, since I want to get in shape and lose a few pounds before our cruise and since we have a treadmill now, I plan to do a lot better! I also bought a pedometer to track miles when we go walking or hiking or something.

Yesterday morning I ran/walked a mile on the treadmill. We had a late lunch/early dinner at my parents' house with my parents, my siblings, and my sisters' spouses. Then from Rebecca and Ryan's place (not too far from my parents' house), we walked to the Marriott Center at BYU and waited there till the fireworks started. Melissa and John and Jeffrey and his date (Brittney) got to be in the Stadium of Fire because Melissa won 4 free tickets. On our way, we stopped at Maceys to get a couple snacks. The fireworks outside the stadium were cool. We sat on the steps of the Marriott Center. Then we walked back to Ryan and Rebecca's place. I remember a couple years ago, we parked at the Marriott Center and it took us about 1 1/2 hours to get home to Pleasant Grove. We weren't about to do that again. Anyway, my feet and calf muscles are VERY sore from the treadmill and all the other walking we did. I think I put in a little over 4 miles yesterday, so I'm starting out good. :-)

Anyway, Happy 4th of July! (1 day late)
