Long Beach, California (Jan. 17, 2009)

Okay, I need to start posting about our vacation. It's just hard because I don't know what pictures to use, since there are almost 600 of them. Our cruise was Jan. 18-25, but we flew out to California (Long Beach) the day before and stayed at a hotel.

I took a picture of this because this is the first time I came out of an airplane not in a tunnel ...

That's because the airport is a small airport ...

These are pictures of the hotel room we stayed in ...

(In the middle picture of the room above, the door on the left is the bathroom, which I failed to take a picture of... but who wants to see a bathroom anyway? Haha! The door on the right is the closet)

While in Long Beach, we went to a beach called Seal Beach ...

Me and Jeff on the pier ...

Our shadows ...

Picture of the beach ...

We were also in a 'tsunami hazard zone'. Good thing there wasn't an earthquake while we were there ...

There was also a street of small shops that we walked down and back, and on the corner (across the street from the pier and beach) was Coldstone and we decided to get some ice cream ...

Me and Jeff eating our ice cream (notice I'm not wearing a coat in January ... it was NICE weather!) ...

Hopefully I can make myself do a post about the cruise in the next day or two. "Hmmm... what pictures to use?" is what I'll keep asking myself.

Pictures Coming Soon... I Promise...

I will admit it... I took almost 600 pictures during the cruise and it'll take time to go through them all and decide which pictures to post. But I promise pictures are coming soon.... Also, anyone know how to fix the heading picture above (to make it more centered or something)? I can't figure it out.

Vertigo

Jeff and I (and his family) got back from our cruise yesterday and ever since we got off the ship, I've been feeling a little bit of vertigo. To read a little about what it means, go here. When I'm in something that moves (like an airplane or a car), I'm fine. But when I'm in a building, standing or sitting, it feels like it's moving a little, like I'm still on the ship. It's a weird feeling and I hope it goes away soon. The cruise was SO much fun, though! I would recommend it to anyone and to save up some extra money to do so! Jeff and I want to do it again in maybe a couple years (if not sooner). As soon as we get all our pictures sorted out and on to my computer, I'll post some pictures and tell more about the fun times we had. But I just wanted to say we're back. I'm sad to be back, though... leaving 80+ degree weather in Mexico to come back to Salt Lake and see some of the biggest snowflakes I've ever seen. :-( I will make multiple posts with pictures over the next few days, so stay tuned!

Fortune Cookies

Today was Jeff's birthday (Happy Birthday, honey!!!) and we went to eat at a place called Whistle Wok in American Fork (a place kinda like Panda Express). Actually, we got the food "to go" and brought it back home and ate while we watched a couple episodes of "I Love Lucy" (Jeff gave me a boxed set of all 9 seasons for Christmas, so we've been watching that). Anyway, I usually eat both fortune cookies because Jeff isn't a big fan of them. I opened the first one and it was so funny... "You will soon be crossing warm waters for a fun vacation." It's so fitting because we're leaving on our cruise this weekend. We thought that was funny. The other one was just "Soon, you will receive pleasant news." Who knows what that could mean. Anyway, just thought I'd share that.

In 2 1/2 days from now (Saturday morning), we'll be at the airport with Jeff's family, getting ready to fly to Long Beach, CA. Not sure what we'll be doing that day. We were thinking about going to Disneyland that day, but we all decided it would be too much money, plus I think going there for not a full day wouldn't be worth it. I'd want to go when we can spend at least a few days there. We'll be staying in a motel that night, then boarding the ship the next afternoon. I'm very excited!! And my next post will probably be after we get back and it will probably have lots of pictures. So stay tuned! ....

Ridiculous!!! (I hate snow!)

In the middle of my work day, I saw out a window that it was snowing. I was like, "Oh great, more snow?" I left work at 4:00, took a few minutes to brush all the snow off my car, and drove carefully. The further north I got, the worse it was. I work in south Provo. Starting at University Parkway exit, it was a traffic jam till our exit in Pleasant Grove. It was so ridiculous (hence my blog title) and it took me over an hour to get home. It usually takes me 15-20 minutes. When I got home, the inside part of my legs right below my knees were hurting 'cause I was so tense. I also had a headache and I had to go to the bathroom really bad (I'm sure you wanted to know that, haha). I was so glad to get home! If the weather is bad tomorrow, I might just stay home and work on Saturday. But hopefully I can go in ('cause I like my Saturdays off!). Anyway, I HATE snow and I'm glad I have a blog to vent on.

First Post of 2009

I can't believe we are nearing the end of the 1st decade in this 21st century. Where the heck does the time go??? In 2000, I was on my mission in Nevada. I got home (to Missouri) from my mission in March 2001. In the summer of 2001, I moved here to Utah. I lived in a few apartments, had some good and not-so-good roommates, dated a few guys. I worked at a place called LabelTec from Aug. 2001-Jan. 2003. Jan. 2003 is when I started the job I'm at now and it's been a good job, on the most part. I think in early 2003, Jeff and I met on LDS Singles website and went out once. We really didn't hit it off too well, but we said 'hi' on MSN Messenger every once in a while. Then we started going out again in 2005 (our 2nd 1st date was May 4, 2005). We got engaged Dec. 17, 2005, got married Mar. 4, 2006, and the rest is history! :-) My parents moved out here to Utah from Missouri in Aug. 2007, I think. It's been good to have them so close. Jeff got a nice job last February. We're happy he got that job... MUCH better than his old job and better pay, too. Sorry I'm rambling so much, just looking back in this decade. Now we look forward to 2009 and coming up in a couple weeks will be our Mexican Riviera Cruise with Jeff's family. It'll be fun and a nice break from work. I'm SO excited!!!
