My Grandma Higginson

Today would have been my grandma's 92nd birthday. She's my dad's mom and she passed away Dec. 12, 2006. I got this framed picture at family reunion auction a couple years ago (one of my uncles took the picture and framed it). Out of both sets of grandparents, I remember her the most because she was the last one to pass away (her husband passed away when I was 7, my mom's mom when I was 13, and my mom's dad when I was 21). I grew up in Missouri and she lived in Missouri, too. I remember going with my parents and siblings to visit her and to sometimes take her to go out to eat and go shopping. She lived over 20 years without my grandpa and when she passed away, I was sad, but I thought, "What a joyous reunion she and my grandpa must be having!" Happy Birthday, Grandma! I love you!

I'm Happy!

You Are Very Happy

And you don't need a quiz to tell you that!

And even when life isn't so great, you have a good sense of perspective.

I'd Like to Introduce to You ....

My car!

Here's my car story since summer 2001 when I moved out here to Utah from Missouri. My parents had a '92 Chrysler LeBaron that I used to drive to and from college when I was living at home. 3 months after my mission, I moved to Utah and they let me have the LeBaron. A little over a year later, it started to have major problems and I wanted to get rid of it and find a better car. I sold it for really, really cheap. Around that time, my Uncle David was selling a minivan and my parents decided to get it. My uncle lives here in Utah, so I got to drive the minivan while I searched and hunted for a car. (My parents didn't like the leather seats too much, so they sold the van to my sister, Melissa, when she moved out here). About a month later, I found a place that was selling cars. It was actually a home with an older couple. The guy was selling cars that were repossessed (is that the term?). He had maybe 4 or 5 at the time. The 2 that were in his garage were both '95 Toyota Camry's, a black one and another one (I never know what to call this color... tan? beige? gold?). The black one was cheaper and was in my price range. I called my Uncle David (since he knows a lot more about cars than I do!) and he came to the home to test drive both vehicles. He told me the tan/beige/gold one was in a lot better shape (driving and looks). And even though it was more expensive, I decided to go for it. I got a loan from my parents and bought the car. I have now had my tan/beige/gold '95 Toyota Camry for a little over 5 1/2 years and it still runs great. I love it! :-)

Random Thoughts

1. I love love LOVE cleaning! I know that may sound weird 'cause not everybody likes to clean. I haven't done too much, though, because it's hard having the motivation or energy to even get started cleaning since I work full-time, but most of the days this past week, I've done some cleaning and organizing (still a lot more to do) and once I get going, I actually kinda enjoy it and it makes me feel good! :-)

2. I love that Jeff and I both have our good jobs that bring us good income to build up our savings. He makes a little more than I do (unless there's a pay period that I get a really good bonus, then maybe I'd make a little more than he does depending on how good of a bonus I get). And on the most part, we both really like our jobs.

3. Most girls/women probably love shopping. I hate it!!! I love not spending money and just saving, saving, saving. I wanted to stay home all day today, but it didn't happen. We ended up doing a little shopping and I just wanted to make it quick and get it over with.

4. I'm starting to see a doctor in the hopes of getting pregnant in the near future. Hopefully it happens soon because I'd love to have a baby of my own instead of envy those who have them, especially since I'll turn 30 this coming August (is that old??). But I also know it's on the Lord's timing and I'll be patient (while having these doctor visits) and enjoy my time spent with my wonderful husband.

5. I love Jeff and all he does for me and that he's so patient with me. I sure picked a winner! :-)

Our New Toy

Jeff and I got ourselves a new toy yesterday. We got an ad in the mail from Shopko with their sales and got ourselves a camcorder. It's so tiny and very light weight! It'll be perfect when we go on trips and for when we start having kids to take video of. And I could even start posting videos on here, too. :-) But we'll have to play around with it and see how it works and see if I can figure out how to post videos on here. In the bottom picture, you can see the camera in my hand and see how small it really is. Also in these pictures, you can see one of the cutest baby pictures of me. :-) Anyway, I'm excited to learn how to use our new toy.

Aren't I cute???

So I thought I'd post this picture of me when I was 4 years old. I used to be so cute! (my husband says I still am... he's so sweet!) I went to Enrichment tonight and one of the things they did was show baby pictures of those who sent their pictures in and we had to guess who they were. And I used this one (since it's the only baby picture I have on my computer right now). So this is me when I used to be cute. :-)
